Got Consent? Be SU.R.E.

Spanish version:

The Got Consent? Be SU.R.E. campaign is releasing a series of public service announcements educating students on the importance of sexual consent on the Syracuse University campus. Through teaming up with Professor Andy Robinson, who teaches Television and Radio Film courses at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, these PSAs will aim to target the student population on campus in order to encourage open dialogue about sexual consent.

The “Got Consent?” program has been on campus for years, but has revamped its efforts through the “Be S.U.R.E.” idea, which stands for shared understanding, respect and enthusiasm before engaging in any sexual activity with others. This campaign is a combined effort among the Office of Health Promotion, the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities, Student Association, the Sexual and Relationship Violence Response Team and the Office of Student Assistance. Now active on social media, this campaign was created to promote consent and sexual assault awareness around campus. The campaign is partnering with the student-run public relations firm, Hill Communications, to spread awareness and execute events to increase sexual consent knowledge at SU.

Be on the lookout for the next PSA being released around MayFest. Check them out on the Got Consent? Be SU.R.E. Facebook page and the Office of Health Promotion Twitter account.
