Massage it away. Sometimes headaches can derive from tightness in muscles in your back or neck. Begin by taking a hot shower to relax your muscles, and then target pressure points in those areas, as well as your temples. Knead slowly and gently to get the blood flowing and relieve tension.
Dim the lights. All of them, electronics too. Studies have shown that bright lights, especially ones from your iPhone or laptop could put stress on the eyes and cause a headache to set in. Instead, put away your electronics and create a peaceful environment for yourself. Even try candles!
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. One of the biggest reasons for headaches is dehydration. Sometimes you may not know your dehydrated, but a headache is one of your body’s first signs to let you know you need water! The loss of electrolytes can cause fatigue, dizziness, and of course, headaches. Water is always the best idea for this, but sports drinks can help too!
Aromatherapy. This little remedy is a newfound, but popular trick to get rid of a headache. Try scents like lavender, peppermint, eucalyptus, and sandalwood to help relieve stress, and thus headaches. These aromas come in candles, oils, and even bath salts so the options for relaxation are endless!
Ginger. This one is a little more unknown, but studies have shown that if you put ginger underneath your tongue, it goes to the brain within minutes and is reported to relieve the strongest of migraines as it stimulates circulation!
